School board race: East Valley Institute of Technology, District 7
EVIT District 7: one seat, one printed candidate, one write-in
How this race works: one seat, four-year term, elected only by voters who live inside EVIT District 7. Bonnie Hickman is the certified (printed ballot) candidate. Jessica Archambault filed as a certified write-in: to vote for her, write her name in and fill in the oval. Only votes for certified write-ins count.
Bonnie Hickman (certified)
Jessica Archambault (write-in)
The conflict in the sources, stated plainly
Ballotpedia's Maricopa County municipal elections page lists only Archambault (as a write-in) for District 7 and omits Hickman entirely, while two secondary sources describe Hickman as running unopposed. Those accounts cannot all be right about the shape of the race, and both secondary characterizations conflict with the county superintendent's certified list, which shows two candidates for one seat: Hickman certified and Archambault as a write-in. We follow the county list, because it is the official filing record, dated August 25, 2026. If the write-in filing changed after that date, no updated county list was published in the sources we found.
Verification notes
- EVIT's other 2026 seats: Districts 1, 4, 5, and 9 were cancelled for lack of opposition (see our cancelled races page). District 3 is a contested write-in race covered on our main EVIT page.
- School board campaigns file finance reports with Maricopa County. No finance totals for either candidate were found in the sources we reviewed.
- EVIT has no bond or override question on the November 2026 ballot in the county sources we checked.
How to vote without getting your ballot rejected
